Our knowledge and experience extends to a wide variety of vessel types, ranging from trawlers, through to tugs, passenger ferries, fisheries research vessels, super seiners, off-shore supply vessels, tankers, cargo vessels , yachts and Defense vessels.

Our experienced on-site team, combined with our well equipped facilities, offer a comprehensive range of ship repair services including: abrasive blasting; spray-painting; welding; aluminium and steel fabrication; marine refrigeration/air-conditioning; electrical/mechanical fitting; hydraulics and pneumatics repairs, machining, propeller re-pitching and balancing. Our Lloyd's and ABS approved tradesmen are effective in all areas of ship repair.

Being fully aware that a vessel out of the water is costing the operator hard cash, we are geared to repair and refit vessels quickly and efficiently under all circumstances. In fact to meet schedules, the shipyard operates 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. ( 7 days negotiable.)

The city of Cairns is serviced by at least 15 international carriers daily and is located within a five minutes drive from the shipyard. All providoreing services and accommodation requirements for ship's crews are located centrally and can be arranged by Tropical Reef Shipyard as required.

On-site, ship's officers and crew are provided with a conference room and up to four offices fitted with telephone and ADSL Internet capability. Full shower and toilet facilities are conveniently located.
